For several years now herpetoculture has come under attack by  several  local and state governments . Also joining the attack are  groups like the HSUS , API , and RSPCA .  Their reasons are built on unwarented fear and  propaganda . They are calling for a ban on  private persons keeping reptiles and  are following their own " secret agenda  "  which sounds more like PETA talk then  anything else  .

  The  PETA  agenda  regarding  pets is  that   nobody should own an animal of  any kind and let them  all go free  . While such a gole may sound noble on paper in all seriousness it is   " The worst  idea in the long sad  history of  bad  ideas "  . The damage to the earths eco system would be stagering . 

  While the laws these groups are calling for are a very important issue ( these laws would be out of line if put on  the books ) it is only one reason why the NAROA was founded . Herptile Welfare and Education of the public at large are two very important issues which will be disscused in more detail on other parts of this site .
